I've been bugged...

Yesterday, I went out onto my front porch to check out how the snow was melting off.  It looked something like this:

It was a nice little dusting.  Very, very cold, as snow usually is.  Then, something at my feet caught my eye.  I looked a little closer.

And then a LOT closer.

Dylan put his bug stickers on my rose bush!  To protect the rose bush?  No.  Because, that's where "buggies doh (go)!"

I love that booger.

I Went AWOL

I just realized that I haven't been on here... at ALL.  There's so much that has been going on around here. Two weeks ago, my brother-in-law and lovely lady friend came to visit.  I had to recouperate and disinfect the WHOLE house because bro brought illness with him.  Blah.  Then, yesterday was Dylan's 2nd birthday party.  That was a riot.  So, I'm here.  I have lots to share, so I'll work up some awesome posts for this week.  I need to get my camera charged up and I'll be back with more!!

I Thought to Myself

...today, I will be amazing. I woke up, felt totally motivated, well-rested, excited for the day. Pretty much every positive feeling a person could have in the morning, I felt it on this morning. Little did I know, Dylan would have terrible allergies (maybe, a cold?). This poor guy has taken stuffy noses to the extreme. I gave him some meds, made sure he was able to breathe, did my mom duties. Now, he won't sleep. I think Benadryl has made him hyper. Ugh!

Besides that mess, I have made the most AMAZING pumpkin bread. Look at it. So pretty and so festive.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Don't you wish you had some? Do you want the recipe??  Ok, ok!

I adapted this recipe from Paula Deen's.  I love her, but I know my bread is sooooo much better!

Pumpkin Bread  (yields 2 loaves)
3 c. sugar    1/2 c. canola oil    1/2 c. cinnamon apple sauce    4 eggs    2 c. canned pumpkin    2/3 c. water    3 1/3 c. all-purpose flour    2 tsp. baking soda    1 1/2 tsp. salt    1 tsp. ground cinnamon    1/2 tsp. allspice    1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice    (you can also add 1/2 - 3/4 c. chopped pecans, which I don't usually do, but if you like to be 'nutty', go for it!)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Butter and flour two loaf pans.  Mix sugar, oil and apple sauce with mixer.  Add eggs and blend.  Add pumpkin and blend.  Add water and blend.  Combine the remaining ingredients and add slowly.  Equally fill your loaf pans and bake for 1 hour.

You're welcome!  Have a happy fall day!

P.S.  This is what Dylan is reminding me of now.  "Is this real life?"  haha

You gotta love David After Dentist.  You can also go to their website here.

Also, I still have the music player on the bottom of my page, but I turned off the automatic start.  I know some people don't really care for my jams as much as others do.
